One handmade gift, at our student table.
It all began in 2014 with a handmade Christmas gift built at our student table. Two people, a love for travel, nature, and the desire to create something useful with their own hands. What started as a small idea slowly turned into Kouskysveta.
Still small. Just not alone.
Today, we are no longer just two people. We work with a small team of trusted people who help us with production, logistics, and daily operations. We collaborate with suppliers from all around the world and friends who share the same mindset: keep things simple, functional, and honest.
Fun fact: our entire operation runs from just 60 square meters (646 sq ft). Luckily, compact gear doesn't need a giant warehouse.
Technician, doctor, and makers.
Jaro leads engineering, prototyping, and production. With a degree in electrical engineering, he focuses on turning ideas into reliable, functional products.
Karina, a practicing doctor, helps design our first-aid and emergency kits. She also has a quiet talent for writing — which sometimes means she improves most of Jaro’s texts before they go online.
Together with our small team, we manage the whole process — from design and prototyping to production coordination, customer care, and shipping.
Our own machines.
To keep the quality where we want it, we've gradually filled the workshop with our own machines — 3D printers, plotters, lasers and lots of other custom build machines. Soon we hope to add a CNC mill and our own sticker printer. We don't just sell boxes; we make tools that we use ourselves on our own adventures.
Giving packages a soul.
We love nature and believe small actions matter. That's why we created the Traveling Box. Every box carries a unique QR code that lets you follow its journey, read messages from previous recipients, and add your own.
Instead of being used once and discarded, the box can continue traveling from one adventure to another.
It's our small way of making reuse a little more fun.
Pieces of the world.
"Kouskysveta" means "Pieces of the World."
More than a decade after our beginnings, a lot has changed. We have built a company and become parents of two wonderful children.
We no longer disappear for months with a backpack as often as we once did, but the spirit behind Kouskysveta remains exactly the same.
We are still curious. We still love discovering new places. We still get excited when a new idea works, when a prototype finally comes together, or when a customer shares a story from the other side of the world.
We don’t just build products. We build tools that travel with you.
And in a way, they still carry the same spirit that started it all — a few small pieces of our world, sent out into yours.
